St. John’s Priory Local Training Initiative

St John’s Priory Local Training Initiative is a programme funded by WWETB (Waterford/Wexford Educational Training Board) and run by the Waterford Civic Trust.

Much of the work of the LTI centres around the restoration of St. John’s Priory, a thirteenth century church located in the city.  This provides participants with the opportunity to learn from tutors and each other in a real life restoration/construction environment skills relating to traditional stonewall techniques which they can carry with them to a variety of settings in their lives.  Also, on successful completion of the course, learners have ample opportunities for progression, whether this is to apprenticeships or gainful employment
